Serving the whole county with over 30 partner organisations, the Living Well Centre is a vibrant hub welcoming more than 700 visits each month.
The Centre provides free advice, wellbeing classes, social activities and consultations.
As online services become increasingly central to daily life, the centre is building on its mission to help people by using BT’s Digital Inclusion Fund to provide new tablets for digital skills sessions. These sessions will help people build confidence and develop practical skills for everyday tasks; from managing household bills and booking GP appointments to ordering groceries, staying connected with family through video calls, and applying for jobs.
PLANED’s Chief Executive, Iwan Thomas said:
The new devices will enhance the quality of community sessions, helping people build confidence with technology and open access to essential services. Having digital skills is now a necessity in our society and this funding will not only help us deliver relevant, skill-based workshops, but will go a long way towards addressing digital exclusion across Carmarthenshire.Iwan Thomas, PLANED
Partner organisations based at the centre will also receive digital marketing and skills training to help them promote the wide range of free services available.
This investment from BT forms part of their social value commitment through the Better Broadband Infill Project.
