Overview
The 5G Innovation Fund can provide grant funding of up to £1.6 million to cover the capital costs associated with building 5G and advanced wireless networks. These networks will enable Swansea Bay City Deal projects and programmes and their partners to establish test beds which deliver advanced solutions and use cases in the following sectors:
- Health & Life Sciences
- Creative Industries & visitor economy
- Transport & Logistics
- Agri-tech
- Energy
- Smart Manufacturing
- Skills
5G and advanced wireless networks can be a powerful enabler of innovation, transforming industries and creating new opportunities for businesses, the public sector, and communities. By establishing Centers of Excellence through our 5G Innovation Fund and fostering shared learning, we can accelerate technological advancements, explore new use cases, and drive economic and societal progress. These efforts will ensure that the full potential of the infrastructure being funded through the Digital Infrastructure Programme is realised, paving the way for a more connected, efficient, and equitable future.
