The Swansea Bay City Deal’s Digital Infrastructure Programme has finished building a full fibre broadband network at Margam Park, Neath Port Talbot. This major upgrade represents an investment of about £150,000 in the local attraction.

Thanks to this fast and reliable broadband, the park can now host large events without internet problems. Services like payment systems, cloud software, and online visitor tools will work smoothly.

Local people living near the park will also benefit. They will have the opportunity to access full fibre broadband, helping to close the digital divide.

This project is part of the Digital Infrastructure Programme’s "Connected Places" workstream. It was completed one month ahead of schedule and is a key step in building a more connected Neath Port Talbot.

The new network uses FTTP (Fibre to the Premises), a future-proof system that can handle growing internet use over time.

Bringing high-speed broadband to Margam Park has been a challenge for many years. The site is complex, and fibre wasn’t easy to access. But through the Connected Places workstream, we’ve solved these issues. Now the park has strong, reliable internet that can support many different uses.

The fibre build was delivered through the Public Sector Broadband Aggregation (PSBA), the Welsh Government’s secure network for public services. It forms part of a wider £1.7 million project across the Swansea Bay City Region.
